Dr. Denise M. Trayford, BS, DC Dr. Trayford is a chiropractor at the Hampton Chiropractic & Wellness Center in Haw Creek, East Asheville. In addition to providing comprehensive health care for the entire family she also maintains her own private business, Hampton Electrodiagnostics, performing sophisticated diagnostic testing for nerve injuries.  She focuses her energy on physical and nutritional therapies for childhood development and women’s issues.  She also empowers her patients with the knowledge and resources necessary to take control of their health in a more proactive manner.  Dr. Trayford has continued the learning process through postgraduate studies in neurology, childhood development and women’s issues.  Getting to truly know her patients and creating individualized treatment plans is essential to her success as a woman “minding her own business”. Dr. Trayford grew up in a small town on the south shore of Long Island, New York.  She began her college career at East Carolina University and earned her Bachelors in exercise physiology at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  While at Northeastern she pursued her interests in sports through team participation in rowing and soccer.  At the same time she began the early stages of her career in health care by working in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation as well as personal training.  Wanting to blend her knowledge of human anatomy and physiology with a holistic healing approach, Dr. Trayford proceeded to New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY and graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic.  Her passion and appreciation for the outdoors and quality of life is what ultimately brought her and her family to the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.
