A large part of our functional nutrition practice is geared toward weight management.  
By weight management we mean those with severe obesity to those looking to shed a few
pounds.  On the other side of the fence we offer programs for those looking to gain weight,
either for personal reasons or more severe issues with eating disorders.
      Their are so many programs available to those looking to manage their weight that it
increasingly harder to make any sense of them.  People are also putting their health at great
risk going on programs that are not specific for their particular body type and physiology.
      Barring any other health issues such as diabetes and others, our weight management
programs are geared toward positively affecting
body composition - or what we're made up
of.
      Lean body mass (muscle mass) is directly related to metabolism.  The more lean
mass we have, the less body fat we have in relation to it.  Many people successfully gain or
lose weight but have no impact on their body composition, and
sometimes make it worse!
      Altered body composition is associated with a host of chronic degenerative diseases
from diabetes to thyroid problems.  Therefore the success and long term results are only
optimal if you positively impact your body composition.
      Whether you are looking to shed the pounds, or put them back on, we can tailor a
program specific for your needs based on results of body composition analysis and
possible laboratory analysis if needed.  These are highly successful, safe weight
